Target Corp. is adding three additional in-store clinics in Northern Virginia, bringing its total to seven in the Washington region.

The Minneapolis-based retailer’s Target Clinic program offers basic health care for treatments of colds and coughs, allergies, immunizations and health screenings. They are open every day of the week and do not require appointments.

Target is competing with other retailers like Safeway and CVS, which have been opening similar in-store clinics in the Washington region and nationwide.

Target’s new clinics will be in stores in Chantilly, Sterling and Manassas. All are scheduled to open Aug. 18.

Target now has 54 Target Clinic locations in six states and says it will open an additional 14 this year.
